BRIAN MCGOUGH

Prior to joining Hedgeye Risk Management, Brian was the executive director in equity research at Morgan Stanley. Before Morgan Stanley, Brian ran the consumer sector team at Copper Arch Capital, was the director of investor relations at Nike. He started his career as a research analyst at Salomon Brothers and Smith Barney. Brian has been recognized by Institutional Investor, Greenwich Associates, StarMine, and The Wall Street Journal.
JT TAYLOR

James R. (JT) Taylor serves as Senior Policy Analyst at Hedgeye Potomac Research. JT has extensive experience in both government and business in Washington, DC, with a career spanning the legislative and executive branches as well as the financial services industry. JT’s Washington experience includes his positions as the President and CEO of the Washington-based think tank, Empower America, and as Vice President of Corporate Communications for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.




JOSH STEINER

Josh has more than a decade of experience following sectors including specialty finance, general financial services, and satellite communications. Prior to Hedgeye Risk Management, Josh was an integral part of the number-one ranked Institutional Investor and Greenwich Survey Mortgage, and specialty finance team at Lehman Brothers before moving to the buy-side at Amaranth Group and Millennium Partners.
DAVID SALEM

Prior to joining Hedgeye in early 2023 as its inaugural Managing Director of Capital Allocation, David served as founding President and Chief Investment Officer of The Investment Fund for Foundations (TIFF) and as a partner at GMO, working closely with Jeremy Grantham on investment solutions for large institutional funds.

Fernando has nearly two decades of investing experience in energy research, global capital markets, and structured finance. Before Hedgeye, he was Senior Analyst for Americas Integrated Oil & Gas and Refining at Bloomberg Intelligence where he led a team covering over $1 trillion in market capitalization securities.

SEAN JENKINS

Sean Jenkins brings over 8 years of research experience at Hedgeye, specializing in the Gaming, Lodging & Leisure (GLL) sector. He played a key role in expanding the GLL team into Online Travel and Timeshare segments in 2019 and 2021.

Mentored by the late Todd Jordan, a renowned GLL analyst, Sean combines deep analytical expertise with a strategic mindset, making him a vital part of Hedgeye's research team.

David, COO and Co-Founder of Tier 1 Alpha, is a United States Army veteran who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. With 18 years of experience in investment management, he specializes in FX markets, global macro strategies, sector ETFs, and volatility trading.

Previously the head currency trader at a large international family office, David is also a respected analyst and contributor on multiple financial platforms. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting Sciences from the University of South Africa and brings a disciplined, strategic approach to his leadership.

Ishmael Asad recently joined Hedgeye as a Digital Assets Analyst, helping to launch a new research vertical focused on digital assets. A graduate in Economics from the University at Buffalo, Ishmael shifted from chemical engineering after discovering Bitcoin and blockchain technology.
Before joining Hedgeye, he shared his passion for digital assets through university presentations, NFT creation, and freelance writing. His enthusiasm for financial innovation and emerging technologies makes him a key contributor to Hedgeye's digital assets initiatives.

Craig Peterson is the CEO and Head of Quantitative Research at Tier 1 Alpha, with over a decade of experience in quantitative research, portfolio construction, and algorithmic trading strategies.

He specializes in building financial models to track options, volatility, and capital flows. Before Tier 1 Alpha, Craig worked on blockchain-based exchanges, advancing smart contracts and tokenization, blending expertise in traditional finance and digital assets.
